The CSD (Computer Security Day) was started in 1988 by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) to help raise awareness of computer related security issues.
The interest to celebrate the CSD has been increasing worldwide, being the National Autonomous University of Mexico, UNAM who has accomplished this important event on Mexico since 1994.
The Computer Security Department / UNAM-CERT of the Computer Academic Services in UNAM is the official organization in Mexico that celebrate the CSD.
For 2009 the theme for CSD will be "The first defense starts with you" so this means that we must be proactive and active for security to work. Each individual is responsible and plays a part in protecting information assets and resources.
Nowadays, as computer users, we have the responsibility to keep secure the information and resources within our organization, which we can reach taking actions to help to strong the computer security.
We must be taking actions and to do something to improve the computer security in the entire computer world.
